Why Join The Valley?
Because banking should work for you. When you join The Valley, you’re part of a member-owned credit union focused on people, not profit. That means better rates, fewer fees, local decision-making, and service rooted in the communities we serve. It’s financial partnership with a purpose—and membership that lasts a lifetime.
How to Become a Member
The Credit Union Difference
Credit unions aren’t banks with a different name — they’re built differently from the ground up. At The Valley, that difference means more focus on people, not profit.
Here’s what sets us apart:
Member-Owned
When you join a credit union, you’re more than a customer — you’re an owner. Members elect a volunteer Board of Directors from within the membership to help guide decisions with members’ best interests in mind.
Purpose-Driven
As a not-for-profit financial cooperative, earnings are reinvested back into members through better rates, lower fees, and improved services — not paid out to stockholders.
Member Benefits
Everyone is treated equally, regardless of account size. We focus on helping members stretch their dollars further with competitive pricing, financial guidance, and services designed to support real-life needs.
Community-Focused
Our values are rooted in people, not profits. Credit unions support financial education, local schools, and underserved communities — helping build stronger, more financially confident neighborhoods.
A Community of Members Like You
For more than 40 years, Kaskaskia Valley Community Credit Union has served members throughout Clinton, Marion, Washington, and Jefferson Counties. If you live or work in these areas — or have an immediate family member who is already a member — you’re welcome here.
We also partner with Select Employee Groups (SEGs) to extend membership opportunities to employees and retirees of qualifying organizations. SEG members receive the same benefits of membership, even if they live or work outside our service area.
How to Join
Joining The Valley is simple.
To open your membership, you’ll need to:
- Live or work in Washington, Marion, Clinton, or Jefferson Counties — or be an immediate family member of a current member
- Bring a valid driver’s license and proof of address (such as mail or a pay stub)
- Deposit $10 into a Share Savings account
That $10 establishes your membership — and once you’re a member, you’re a member for life, as long as the balance is maintained.
